Shedding Old Skin to Begin Again is an immersive workshop designed to create a gentle space for self-discovery.Through simple, honest mind-body practices, we'll slow it down, take time to reflect, and gain fresh perspectives and deep insights into your path forward.Accept this as your personal invitation to nurture yourself, reconnect with your deepest essence, and step into your next chapter feeling confident, clear, and fully renewed.
Through guided reflections and journaling, we'll gently peel back the layers of identity - like peeling an onion - revealing who you are beneath the surface. You'll connect with others through partnered exercises and group experiences, exploring your thoughts and feelings in a supportive environment designed to spark creativity and deepen self-awareness.
You'll learn accessible and proven techniques for centering, grounding, and listening. Walk away with a clearer sense of your authentic self and practical mind-body tools you can integrate into daily life to support your ongoing growth.
We want to shed old skin—metaphorically speaking—because growth requires release. Over time, we accumulate layers of protection, habits, stories, and identities that once served us but may now keep us small, rigid, or disconnected from who we truly are.Shedding allows us to:
Renew our sense of self. By letting go of outdated patterns or beliefs, we reveal our innermost truth. This is the unchanging, pure, natural essence that we are. From this place, we find more empathy, joy, and love for life!
Restore vitality. Holding onto old emotions or self-concepts drains energy. Release brings lightness and freedom. This quality of being energizes our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Respond to life freshly. When we’re not defined by our past layers, we can meet each moment with openness and curiosity. We can begin anew!
It’s less about discarding who we’ve been, and more about honoring what’s no longer needed—so something truer, more alive, can take root.

Colleen McHorney has spent over 15 years in the field of mental health, guiding others toward greater balance, resilience, and self-understanding. She is a Certified Health and Life Coach, Certified LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner and Trauma Specialist, and a 500-hour Certified Yoga Instructor. For more than eight years, she served as the Resourcing Coach at a local trauma and counseling center, where she helped individuals build emotional steadiness and reconnect with their own inner wisdom. In the spring of 2025, Colleen opened her private practice to bring this integrative work to a wider community. Her approach blends yoga, somatic awareness, and the Positive Intelligence® mental fitness framework to support those navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, and life’s many transitions.Colleen uses Positive Intelligence to develop greater mental fitness. With this modality, participants first learn to recognize internal negative voices that generate stress and self-doubt. The coaching then focuses on strengthening the part of the brain—the wiser and more positive self—that helps individuals handle challenges with empathy, creativity, and a sense of calm. This style of coaching builds new neural pathways and habits, leading to sustained positive changes, rather than temporary fixes.Drawing from both ancient and modern traditions, Colleen weaves together mind-body-spirit practices with insights from behavioral science to help people rediscover peace, strength, and connection within themselves. Her work invites participants to return home to the body, soften the mind, and live with greater ease and authenticity.
